President John J. DeGioia will induct each class member into the Magis Society and present them with a Magis medallion. Check-in will begin at 9 a.m., and the ceremony will begin promptly at 10 a.m.

Learn about the past, present, and future of third-oldest operating astronomical observatory in the United States. Opened in 1844, and celebrating 180 years, the Heyden Observatory is truly a Georgetown (and national) treasure. Please note that the inside of the Heyden Observatory is currently closed for critical repairs. In the case of inclement weather, the exhibition of select Observatory equipment will be moved to Yates Field House, Studio A.

Join President DeGioia for an intimate conversation with Howard Hunter (C’79) to discuss his recent book, Tearing Down the Lost Cause: The Removal of New Orleans’s Confederate Statues. Hunter’s research examines the city’s complicated relationship with Confederate history both pre– and post–Civil War, centering on the rise and fall of four local Confederate monuments. This conversation will be a compelling discussion on the cultural history of New Orleans and the context of these statues in the broader area community.

We’ve all had much more exposure to science and scientists these past few years than we typically would. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought weighty discussions of viruses and vaccines into the news, politics, and our everyday lives. However, science also has a fun and quirky side. The scientific properties of everyday materials in the world around us can surprise us and fire up our imaginations. Families with children of all ages are invited to join in a hands-on hour of science with professors and students from Georgetown’s science departments.

Join us for a tour of Georgetown’s most sacred spaces—from Dahlgren Chapel to Masjid, and everywhere in-between—and discover the special places for all faiths on campus.

The LGBTQ Resource Center is excited to invite familiar and new alumni, friends, and family to a Rainbow Reunion Open House in our new OSEI home! Join us for refreshments and learn about  the future of the center and our work as we continue to grow within the Georgetown community.
