Join Georgetown School of Medicine alumni, students, faculty, and friends for the Fall Capstone Research Showcase—an evening highlighting the scholarly work and professional formation of Georgetown medical students. The program will feature a keynote reflection followed by interactive student presentations and poster sessions exploring topics across clinical research, ethics, global health, health equity, medical education, and the humanities in medicine.

Designed to foster meaningful connections across generations of Hoyas, the showcase reflects Georgetown’s commitment to the formation of physician-healers dedicated to both scientific excellence and compassionate care.

Your first stop upon arrival! Visit the Reunion Welcome Center in The Hoya Hotel to officially check in for the weekend. Our staff will provide your welcome bag, name badge, and official reunion program, answer questions, offer recommendations, and help direct you to events and destinations across campus.

Take a moment to relax, reconnect with classmates, and enjoy complimentary coffee, light refreshments, and grab-and-go snacks before heading out to explore Reunion Weekend.

Explore Georgetown University’s sacred spaces—both historic and contemporary—with members of Georgetown’s Campus Ministry team. As the nation’s oldest Catholic and Jesuit university, Georgetown welcomes students and faculty of all faith traditions. This special tour offers an opportunity to experience the spaces that reflect the spiritual life, history, and diverse religious traditions of the Georgetown community.

Join us for the Dental Alumni Board’s fall meeting, where we’ll discuss engagement initiatives, priorities, and goals for the year ahead. All interested dental alumni are welcome to attend.

For many alumni, few individuals are more closely associated with the Georgetown School of Medicine experience than Stephen Ray Mitchell, dean emeritus for medical education. During this informal reception, alumni are invited to stop by, enjoy light lunch fare, and reconnect with Dr. Mitchell as we celebrate his enduring contributions to the School of Medicine and its alumni community.

Explore a special exhibit celebrating the School of Dentistry’s rich history (1901–1990) and its profound impact on the Georgetown and greater Washington, DC, communities. Browse photographs, news articles, and first-hand accounts from dental students, faculty, and university leadership. University archivists will be on hand to answer questions and pull specific materials upon request. This event follows an open house format.

While health care has become more efficient and effective, it has also become increasingly impersonal. This session addresses the significant negative impact of depersonalization on the health care professional-patient relationship and on clinicians themselves. Through an examination of clinical language and conversation structure, participants will learn how distancing, distrust, and moral distress develop—and discover practical strategies for reversing these patterns.

Restore humanity to your practice by changing the language and architecture of patient interactions, with profound benefits for your patients, your communication, and your own professional fulfillment.

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity:

1. Attendees will be able to relate two-three ways routine health care can negatively impact the provider-patient relationship.
2. Attendees will be able to give three concrete examples of language that distances caregivers from the people they care for.
3. Attendees will be able to restructure important conversations in a way that is less biased and more constructive to the development of a close relationship with the people they care for.

Accreditation
In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by MedStar Health and the Georgetown University Office of Advancement. MedStar Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Credit Designation
This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 1.50 Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credits for learning and change.

Hear from alumni of the Special Master’s Program in Physiology as they reflect on their academic and professional journeys and discuss how the program prepared them for success in medical school and beyond. Bringing together SMP alumni and current students, this engaging conversation offers an opportunity to reconnect with the Georgetown community, inspire the next generation of health care leaders, and learn more about the evolving needs and future of the program. Members of the Georgetown University School of Medicine Class of 1976 and the School of Dentistry Class of 1976 will be honored as distinguished alumni during the Magis Medallion Ceremony. Rooted in Georgetown’s Jesuit tradition, magis—“the more universal good”—reflects a lifelong commitment to service, leadership, and care for others. This special recognition celebrates the ways in which members of the Class of 1976 have embodied that calling throughout their lives and careers. A reception to immediately follow.

Join members of the Medical Alumni Board for the Board’s fall meeting during Reunion Weekend. Beauchamp Jr., M.D., MHS, executive vice president for Health Sciences and executive dean of the School of Medicine, along with fellow deans, for a special conversation about the future of Georgetown Medicine. Through reflections and institutional updates, alumni will gain insight into the evolving landscape of Georgetown medical education, student formation, research innovation, clinical partnerships, and residency advising.

Designed to bring together generations of Hoyas interested in the future of dentistry, the event offers an opportunity to reconnect with fellow alumni, engage with aspiring dental professionals, and celebrate the legacy and continued spirit of Georgetown dentistry.

A Reunion fan favorite, Hoyas on Call is a relaxed and engaging networking event where generations of Hoya physicians discuss specialties, residency, practice, and the rich traditions of the School of Medicine.

Join fellow classmates from the Class of 1976 for a luncheon to celebrate your 50th reunion from the Georgetown School of Dentistry.

Join Anthony S. Fauci, M.D. (HON’90) for a timely and reflective conversation on the scientific, public health, and policy lessons learned from the global COVID-19 pandemic. Drawing on more than six years of experience responding to one of the most significant public health crises of our time, Fauci will explore the complexities of pandemic preparedness and response, including advances in biomedical science, the development of effective countermeasures, health equity challenges, public trust, and the impact of misinformation and disinformation on public health efforts.

Designed for physicians, advanced practice providers, students, and health care professionals, this CME session will offer valuable insight into the evolving landscape of infectious disease preparedness and the critical lessons that will shape responses to future public health emergencies.

Objectives and Learning Outcomes:
1. Appreciate the scientific and societal complexities of COVID-19 pandemic as it has evolved over more than six years.
2. Describe the scientific basis for the development of effective COVID-19 countermeasures and challenges in implementing them.
3. Discuss the longstanding and systemic health and social inequities that contributed to disparities in pandemic-related health outcomes as well as the challenges to public health posed by misinformation and disinformation.

The School of Medicine Class of 1996 will celebrate their 30th Reunion at 1310 Kitchen & Bar, a neighborhood staple located in the heart of Georgetown and part of The Georgetown Inn. Gather with classmates around farm-to-table American fare and an open bar just blocks from main campus.

The School of Medicine Class of 2001 will celebrate their 25th Reunion at Fitzgerald’s, a highly coveted gathering spot for Georgetown alumni. Formerly known as F. Scott’s and adjacent to The Tombs, this newly renovated bar maintains its retro chic charm with impressive bars and velvet lounge seating. Enjoy an open bar and heavy hors d’oeuvres prepared in the 1789 kitchen.

The School of Medicine Class of 2006 will celebrate their 20th Reunion at the Wagner Alumni House. Located one block from Healy Gates, the Alumni House is a home away from home for all alumni. Gather with classmates to enjoy an open bar and heavy hors d’oeuvres from one of DC’s top caterers.

Young medical alumni from the School of Medicine Classes of 2011, 2016, and 2021 will gather at Tony & Joe’s to reconnect with classmates over an open bar and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Enjoy stunning waterfront views of the Potomac as you toast to years gone by and to those ahead!
