There is no place like home and there is no place like Georgetown… as absence makes our Hoya hearts grow fonder!

Reunion Weekend 2022 is a wonderful chance to rediscover what made Georgetown “home” for you and to renew your lifelong connection to this special place. We are thrilled to welcome back all members of the undergraduate classes of 1972, 1977, 1982, 1987, 1992, 1997, 2002, 2007, 2012, and 2017, as well as our Magis alumni (Class of 1969 and beyond). Come home to the Hilltop!

Alumni, friends, and family members will gather on campus for three days of celebration, learning, and camaraderie. It’s a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with friends and classmates and see how your Georgetown has grown into the university it is today. Weekend events include class parties, campus tours, activities for Hoyas of all ages, and a variety of fascinating panels featuring some of our most prominent alumni as well as beloved faculty.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What policies related to COVID-19 are in place for Reunion Weekend?

    1) All guests attending Reunion Weekend events must be up to date on their COVID-19 vaccination (i.e., a primary series, and when eligible, an additional dose) or attest to having a religious or medical exemption. Those attesting to an exemption will need to provide results of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours prior to arrival at the event. Guests who do not provide proof of being up-to-date on vaccination or results of a negative PCR test will not be allowed entry to any Reunion Weekend events (both indoor and outdoor).

Attendees (including guests) ages 12 and older must either:

    • Individually submit documentation in the portal showing they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (i.e., a primary series, and when eligible, an additional dose) by Thursday, June 2 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
    • Individually attest to having a religious or medical exemption in the portal, take a COVID-19 PCR test within 72 hours prior to the event, and individually submit their negative test results in the portal by Thursday, June 2 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Attendees (including guests) between the ages of 2 and 11 must either:

    • Individually submit documentation in the portal showing they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (i.e., a primary series, and when eligible, an additional dose) by Thursday, June 2 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
    • Take a COVID-19 PCR test within 72 hours prior to the event and individually submit their negative test results in the portal by Thursday, June 2 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Attendees younger than 2 do not need to submit any additional information to the portal.

    2) Completed Health Attestation

All attendees ages 2 and up (including guests) will receive an email with their individual health attestation on Thursday, June 2 and must individually complete it confirming they are symptom-free by 11:59 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 2.

    3) Use of a mask while indoors

Georgetown University reinstated an indoor mask requirement on Thursday, April 7. All attendees will need to wear a mask indoors, except when actively eating or drinking.

  • What questions related to COVID-19 requirements are frequently asked?

What if I don’t submit the required documentation before the portal closes at 11:59 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 2?

You will need to submit the required vaccination documentation at Healy Hall during registration hours (Friday, June 3 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday, June 4 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.)

If you are unable to attend registration hours, you will need to present the required documentation (please refer to COVID-19 requirements above) at each event you attend. Please note that following these steps at every event will take time, so please be prepared to experience longer wait times to gain entry to reunion events. To avoid longer wait times, we strongly recommend that you (and any of your guests) individually submit required documentation by Thursday, June 2 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Can I provide required documentation in one submission through the portal for every person in my party?

No.  You must individually submit required documentation through the portal for every person age 2 and up in your party. If you have already incorrectly submitted documentation for your group, please resubmit the documentation separately for each individual. In order to receive each individual’s health attestation in advance of the weekend, you must use a unique email address for each individual.

  • Do I need to register in advance?

Advance registration is strongly encouraged, but we understand that this is not always possible. Please note that there are higher registration prices for some events after specific dates, so register early for the best pricing of the weekend!

Early-bird pricing ends Wednesday, April 27 and pre-registration will close Tuesday, May 24. During the weekend, on-site and late registration will be available in Healy Hall on Friday, June 3, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Saturday, June 4, from 9 a.m. to noon.

  • If I choose to attend an event as a walk-in over Reunion Weekend, can I pay with cash or check?

No.  We only accept debit and credit cards as payment methods.

  • When is the last day I can get a full refund?

The last day to receive a full refund on your reunion registration is Friday, May 20.

  • Who can come? Can I bring my family and friends?

You are welcome to bring guests to celebrate with you including family, friends, and kids! Kid-friendly events will be denoted as “Kid-friendly” in the weekend schedule.

  • How do I get around campus?

We highly recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes throughout the weekend. On campus, golf carts will be available to anyone needing transportation assistance. Campus maps will be provided at reunion check-in.

  • Is parking available?

Parking in the Southwest Quad Parking Garage will be complimentary Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5. On-campus parking is in high demand over the course of the weekend, and will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • What should I wear?

First, consult the weather forecast, as spring weather in Washington, D.C., can be unpredictable. Daytime temperatures are typically between 75 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit and evening temperatures are between 65 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Temperatures may vary by room and venue, so for your own comfort, we recommend that you dress in layers. During the day, events and clothing are casual. Please consult the schedule of events for your class party’s recommended attire.

  • What if I have special needs?

Please let us know about any special needs—including dietary requirements or handicap accessibility needs—when you register by emailing advancementevents@georgetown.edu or calling 202-687-2064. We will do our best to accommodate your needs as long as we know about your circumstances at least one week prior to the weekend.

  • What are resources for childcare?

White House Nannies: Our recommended childcare provider may be able to provide fully screened and agency-qualified caregivers for individual needs during the weekend. To book a caregiver through White House Nannies, call 301-652-8088 (or, toll free, 800-266-9024) and reference Georgetown Reunion Weekend.

Student Employment Office: The Student Employment Office serves as a clearinghouse for students available for babysitting positions, but it is not a direct matching service. To employ childcare services from Georgetown students, go to the student employment website [seo.georgetown.edu], click on Off-Campus Employers, then click on Post a Job and complete the required information. We recommend that you post your request at least one week in advance. Please call 202-687-4187 for more information.

Hotel Referrals: Many hotels offer babysitting referrals. Please check the Accommodations section for a list of hotels and contact them directly about specific offerings.

Personal Referrals: You can also seek recommendations from classmates or organize babysitters for groups. Your class’s Facebook page can be a great resource for finding a childcare provider.

  • Whom can I contact for more information?

If you have any questions, call the Advancement Events hotline at 202-687-2064 or email advancementevents@georgetown.edu. Please provide your name, school, class year and daytime telephone number or email address in your message. Your question will be answered as soon as possible.

Reunion Giving

A great and important way alumni can participate in their class reunion efforts is by making a reunion gift. Every year, it’s a race to see which undergraduate classes will be recognized for their achievements.

  • Reunion Cup

Awarded to the reunion class with the greatest percentage of classmates returning for the weekend.

  • Blue & Gray Cup

Awarded to the reunion class with the largest reunion gift total.

  • President’s Cup

Awarded to the reunion class with the greatest percentage of donors.

  • Legacy Society Cup

Awarded to the reunion class with the greatest percentage of alumni who have become members of the Legacy Society by making a planned gift. To become a Legacy Society member or talk with a gift planning representative, please email giftplanning@georgetown.edu.

  • Loyalty Cup

Awarded to the reunion class with the largest percentage of classmates who are members of the Loyalty Society and who have given continuously since their last reunion. A special Buyback Program for alumni allows alumni to “buy back” years they missed. Five years of consecutive giving qualifies alumni as Milestone members of the Georgetown University Loyalty Society—our way of saying thank you to our most steadfast supporters.

To learn more, visit the Loyalty Society website or call 800-424-2795.
