Since graduating from Georgetown University in 2017, Sydney Jean Gottfried has spent time working in news and late-night television at NBC. She started out as an associate producer for the network’s affiliate news service, writing news scripts for iHeartRadio’s “NBC News Radio” in Washington, D.C.

In 2018, she joined The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in New York as a writer’s assistant on the show’s monologue team. In 2020, she was promoted to associate producer, working alongside Fallon's sketch writers to produce topical comedy and recurring signature bits like "Hashtags" and "Thank You Notes" every week.
