Robert Gallucci is a former U.S. diplomat and distinguished academic who is currently a Distinguished Professor in the Practice of Diplomacy at the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service (SFS) at Georgetown University.

He previously served as U.S. ambassador-at-large and special envoy for the U.S. Department of State, focused on the non-proliferation of ballistic missiles and weapons of mass destruction. He was the chief U.S. negotiator during the North Korean nuclear crisis of 1994 and served as assistant secretary of state for Political Military Affairs and as deputy executive chairman of the U.N. Special Commission following the first Gulf War.

Upon leaving public service, Ambassador Gallucci served as dean of the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University (1996-2009). During his tenure as dean of SFS, Ambassador Gallucci led in the creation of the School of Foreign Service in Qatar. He also oversaw the creation of the Program for Jewish Civilization, an interdisciplinary research and teaching center, and the Mortara Center for International Studies, whose mission is to bring together scholars and policy makers in the area of international affairs. Ambassador Gallucci also served as president of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation (2009-2014).
