Howard Hunter (C’79) is a New Orleans native, and a history teacher for 38 years. He has published articles on New Orleans and the Civil War for both academic and general audiences. He is a past president of the Louisiana Historical Society. Tearing Down the Lost Cause: The Removal of New Orleans’s Confederate Statues is his first book.
