Cynthia Keysor, Ph.D., (C’85) is a licensed psychologist within a private group practice. She values the ability to bring a developmental perspective to her clinical work with children, teens, adults, parents, and families. She practices from the belief that children want to do well and when they’re not, there’s a reason(s) that may yet to be known and/or addressed. Dr. Keysor enjoys working collaboratively with parents/caregivers to help them understand and respond to their children’s individual needs and to foster positive parent-child interactions.

Dr. Keysor has extensive experience in treating disorders of behavior, mood, anxiety, and adjustment, with focus on a wide range of presenting concerns that include: learning and behavioral issues in school, hyperactivity, executive functioning deficits, depression, aggression, worry, stress, dysregulation, separation anxiety, grief and loss, social skill deficits, negative peer relations, separation/ divorce, low self-esteem, parenting concerns, and struggles within the parent-child relationship.

Dr. Keysor graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1985, majoring in psychology and minoring in theology. After working as a research assistant at the National Institutes of Health, she pursued her graduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, earning her doctorate degree in clinical psychology. Dr. Keysor completed her clinical internship at the Bingham Child Guidance Center/University of Louisville School of Medicine; a year later, she completed her post-doctoral fellowship at Kennedy Krieger Institute, where she practiced as a psychologist and was the director of outpatient psychiatry for the last four of her nearly 10 years there. During this time, Dr. Keysor also held a faculty appointment through the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She has now been in private practice for 15 years.
