Claudia Recchi grew up in Rome, Italy. She came to Georgetown as a first-generation, U.S. college student. After graduating cum laude in 2017 from the McDonough School of Business, she turned down a job offer from Amazon to start her own company, EdSights.

EdSights uses AI-powered texting to provide support to students as they traverse their way through college. Recchi has raised $8 million in venture capital funding from top-tier investors including Techstars, Album VC (early investor in Degreed and Andela), the CEO of Chegg, the founders of Warby Parker, Allbirds, Rent the Runway, and Bonobos.

EdSights is currently supporting millions of students at over 200 universities across the United States. Their efforts, which are targeting the college dropout crisis in the U.S., have saved thousands of students from dropping out of colleges and saved institutions over $100 million in tuition revenue.

Recchi has made the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for education in 2020. In her free time, she likes to travel, try new foods, and play with her dog, Pita.
