Nigel Scott (C'95)
Nigel S. Scott (C’95) graduated from Georgetown with a bachelor’s degree in English and biology. Currently, he is the managing attorney at Aegis Law, LLC and the vice chair of the Georgetown University African American Advisory Board (GUAAAB).
He began his legal training in the Delaware County Office of the Public Defender, where he represented underprivileged individuals charged with crimes. Scott then continued his development as a trial lawyer, when he tried misdemeanors and minor felonies as a prosecutor in the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office. The combined experience allowed him to gain valuable experience and insight into both perspectives across the aisle, as a defense attorney and later as a prosecutor.
Scott’s litigation expertise is also reflected in his eight years of service as a court-appointed arbitrator in Pennsylvania’s First Judicial District. The combined experience has served him well, making him a skilled and assured litigator, with a compassion and commitment to justice. The latter is born of his own immigrant past, which serves as the impetus for his immigration practice today. Scott sees himself in every one of his clients, and is committed to helping them legally obtain the same opportunities he had.
He dedicates a minimum of 50 hours each year to pro bono service, and was named to Pennsylvania’s First Judicial District’s pro bono Honor Roll for each of the past eight years.
