Jim Pomposelli graduated from the Georgetown School of Foreign Service in 1991 with a degree in international economics. Pomposelli began his career in New York at JP Morgan in asset-backed investment banking origination finishing this stage of his career in 2003 at Bank One in Chicago. After a couple of stints at startup companies, Pomposelli started his career as a residential mortgage originator in 2009. In the last fifteen years, Pomposelli has helped over 900 families purchase nearly $400M of homes in Chicagoland. Before joining Citibank in 2024, Pomposelli previously worked at both local mortgage brokers and a community bank where he has worked with numerous first-time homebuyers, high net worth individuals, and community lending programs.

Outside of work, Pomposelli is the proud father of two sons including his oldest who graduated from Georgetown in 2021. An Eagle Scout himself, Pomposelli volunteered for Scouting America for twelve years where both his sons earned their Eagle Scout. Pomposelli joined the Georgetown Alumni Admissions Program (AAP) after graduation and has been a GU alumni interviewer for the last 26 years. An AAP Committee Chairman since 2000, Pomposelli also served two terms on the Georgetown AAP Board of Advisors.
