There is no place like home and there is no place like Georgetown...

Reunion Weekend 2018 provides a great opportunity to rediscover what made Georgetown "home" for you and to renew your lifelong connection to this special place. All members of the undergraduate classes of 1968, 1973, 1978, 1983, 1988, 1993, 1998, 2003, 2008, and 2013, as well as our Magis alumni (Class of 1967 and beyond) and School of Dentistry alumni are invited to come home to the Hilltop and reconnect with the spirit of Georgetown.

More than 4,500 alumni, friends, and family members gather annually on campus for three days of celebration. It's a fantastic time to reconnect with friends and classmates and see how your Georgetown has grown into the university it is today. Weekend events include the traditional class parties, campus tours, activities for Hoyas of all ages, and a variety of fascinating panels featuring some of our most prominent alumni as well as beloved faculty.

Excited for your reunion?

Let us know you're planning to come home to Georgetown! Add your name to let your classmates know you're saving the date for reunion. Official registration information will be mailed in the spring.

Staying on campus completes the back-to-school experience, putting you in the center of the action. Select residence halls will be open for on-campus housing during Reunion Weekend.

Amenities

All rooms are carpeted, air-conditioned, and equipped with standard dorm room furnishings. It’s a blank slate for you to make your own for the weekend, just like you did freshman year! Linens provided include a bath towel for each individual, bed sheets, blanket and pillow. There is no daily housekeeping service or linen exchange. We recommend bringing an additional towel for your stay. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide cribs or rollaway beds.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get around campus?

We highly recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes throughout the weekend. On campus, golf carts will be available for anyone needing transportation assistance. Campus maps will be provided at reunion check-in.

What should I wear?

First, consult the weather forecast, as spring weather in Washington, D.C., can be unpredictable. Daytime temperatures are typically between 75 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit and evening temperatures are between 65 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Temperatures may vary by room and venue, so for your own comfort, we recommend that you dress in layers. During the day, events and clothing are casual. Please consult your class party descriptions on the schedule.

What if I have special needs?

Please let us know about any special needs—including dietary requirements or handicap accessibility needs—when you register by emailing advancementevents@georgetown.edu or calling 202-687-2064. We will do our best to accommodate your needs as long as we know about your circumstances at least one week prior to the weekend.

What are resources for childcare?

White House Nannies: Our recommended childcare provider may be able to provide fully screened and agency-qualified caregivers for individual needs during the weekend. To book a caregiver through White House Nannies, call 301-652-8088 or (toll free) 800-266-9024 and reference Georgetown Reunion Weekend.

Student Employment Office: The Student Employment Office serves as a clearinghouse for students available for babysitting positions, but it is not a direct matching service. To employ child-care services from Georgetown students, go to the student employment website [seo.georgetown.edu], click on Off-Campus Employers, then click on Post a Job and complete the required information. We recommend that you post your request at least one week in advance. Please call 202-687- 4187 for more information.

Hotel Referrals: Many hotels offer babysitting referrals. Please check the Accommodations section for a list of hotels and contact them directly about specific offerings.

Personal Referrals: You can also seek recommendations from classmates or organize babysitters for groups. Your class’s Facebook page can be a great resource for finding a childcare provider.

Whom can I contact for more information?

If you have any questions, call the Advancement Events hotline at 202-687-2064 or email advancementevents@georgetown.edu. For questions regarding the School of Dentistry Reunion, please email gumcengagement@georgetown.edu or call 202-687-7253. Please provide your name, school, class year and daytime telephone number or email address in your message. Your question will be answered as soon as possible.

Undergraduate Giving Achievements

A great and important way alumni can participate in their class reunion efforts is by making a reunion gift.

Every year, it’s a race to see which undergraduate classes will be recognized for their achievements.

Reunion Cup

Awarded to the reunion class with the greatest percentage of classmates returning for the weekend. Recent winners include the classes of 2008 and 2003.

Blue & Gray Cup

Awarded to the reunion class with the largest reunion gift total. Recent winners include the classes of 1983 and 1968.

President's Cup

Awarded to the reunion class with the greatest percentage of donors. Recent winners include the classes of 1963 and 2003.

Legacy Society Cup

Awarded to the reunion class with the greatest percentage of alumni who have become members of the Legacy Society by making a planned gift. To become a Legacy Society member or talk with a gift planning representative, please email giftplanning@georgetown.edu. Recent winners include the class of 1968.

Loyalty Cup

Awarded to the reunion class with the largest percentage of classmates who are members of the Loyalty Society and who have given continuously since their last reunion. A special Buyback Program for reunion-year alumni allows alumni to “buy back” years they missed. Five years of consecutive giving qualifies alumni as Milestone members of the new Georgetown University Loyalty Society—our way of saying thank you to our most steadfast supporters. Recent winners include the class of 1968.
To learn more, visit the Loyalty Society website or call 800-424-2795.
