Gather with your classmates to inaugurate a new Georgetown tradition: the all-class procession! Behind their class banners and serenaded by bagpipes, alumni will march up O Street through Healy Gates and across Healy Circle on their way up to Gaston Hall to hear the Presidential Address. Partners and family members are welcome to join in the march or to cheer enthusiastically from the sidelines. A terrific opportunity for your children to participate in their first official Hoya event. All participants receive a free class T-shirt. Plan on joining in to make this a memorable Georgetown first! Free breakfast will be provided in advance at Alumni House.

University President John J. DeGioia will give a State of the University address, followed by a conversation with former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, Mortara Distinguished Professor of Diplomacy. A signing of Secretary Albright's new book, Memo to the President Elect: How We Can Restore America's Reputation and Leadership, will follow the program.

While parents are at the University President's Event, children ages four through 10 will enjoy the storytelling of family favorites, hosted by Theresa DeGioia (C'89) wife of Georgetown's President John J. DeGioia. Be part of the Reunion Community Service project by donating a new children's book to the Center for Social Justices reading programs.
Syl Sobel (C'77), an author of children's books on U.S. government and history, will share with young readers "Ten Things To Do If You Want To Run For President," based on his book, "Presidential Elections and Other Cool Facts."

Copley Lawn, Davis Performing Arts Center
Students from D.C. public schools will tell stories and enact fables during the All-Class Family Picnic on Copley Lawn. Then, grab a seat in the Gonda Theatre at 2:00 p.m. for a sneak preview of Nadine George Graves' world premiere play, Anansi The Story King. This new production re-imagines the legend of Anansi the spider, the classical African Diaspora trickster, using puppetry, new media, music, and dance. A mash-up of the traditional African legend with the Arabian classic, Shahrazad, it is a performance for the whole family.

This panel will bring Georgetown alumni together to discuss the joys, challenges, and surprises when senior executives change careers. What do you do when you're the No. 2 person in a company that gets bought out? What happens when the administration changes? So you've achieved your business goals, but you still want to do more? We will host a panel of alumni who will share their own experiences with just these subjects. We can't name the panel yet....but watch out!.

You'll see where the costumes are designed and created, tour the scene shop where the sets are constructed and get a performer's eye view of the theater from center stage.

    Bus departs from Healy Gates
    Led by Joseph Murphy, professor of theology, this bus tour will visit several sacred spaces around D.C. to explore how these sites construct themselves apart from the ordinary world and to evoke experiences of another, ultimate world of value and power. Stops are planned at the Islamic Center and the Shrine of Immaculate Conception. $

    Field Day comes to Reunion! Introduce your Hoya Kid to Georgetown Athletics through these hands-on clinics, led by members of the Athletics Department. Activities are scheduled for children of all ages, including volleyball, soccer, and basketball.

    How does Georgetown compete for the best and brightest among other top-25 institutions? Join Charles Deacon, dean of undergraduate admissions, and Alice Farnham, assistant director of grants and scholarship programs, as they discuss the state of admissions at Georgetown. Learn about the vital role that alumni can play in the process through initiatives like the Alumni Admissions Program and the Georgetown Scholarship Program. Current and prospective members of both programs are welcome.

    Heidi Elmendorf, professor of biology, delves into the benefits and dangers of these single-cell organisms and the implications for society, economics and the environment in this interactive presentation.

    Members of the Class of 1958 and their guests are invited to a special mass in their honor, celebrated by classmates Tom Gleeson, S.J. (C'58), Brian McDermott, S.J. (C'58), and Gasper F.
