Main Campus Reunion Weekend is a wonderful opportunity for alumni to introduce their families to the Georgetown community and to their classmates. Many events are informal and family-friendly. This year, events designed for Hoya Kids include storytelling, a theater workshop, sports clinics, an art history presentation, and the all-class procession. Look for the symbol for family-friendly events (suggested ages are listed where applicable). Learn more about Family Events.

Come join us for a guided tour through several of Washington's historic neighborhoods, including D.C.'s Ward 7, Anacostia, and the Columbia Heights/U Street areas. As you travel through the area, you will learn more about the history of D.C. and Georgetown's historical involvement in bringing educational programs into D.C. public schools located in Ward 7. $

Buses depart from McDonough Gym
Members of all classes are invited to participate in a shotgun tournament that will take place at the Virginia Oaks Golf Course. Reminisce about the Georgetown of yesterday and explore today's Georgetown during a luncheon with President John J. DeGioia and other members of the faculty and administration. President DeGioia and Tom Banchoff, director of the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs, will speak about Islam and the West: Annual Report on the State of Dialogue. The report, which was presented at the 2008 Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, offers a systematic overview of how Muslim and Western societies perceive and relate to each other at the political, social, economic and cultural levels. $

An examination of the fundamental human issue of ultimate meaning, Father Otto Hentz, S.J. (H'66) will discuss questions surrounding the problem of knowledge, the relation of faith and reason, and the impact of secularization on religion. This seminar will revisit some of the questions addressed during your undergraduate years and relate them to your life today.

Students from D.C. public schools will tell stories and enact fables during the All-Class Family Picnic on Copley Lawn. Then, grab a seat in the Gonda Theatre at 2:00 p.m. for a sneak preview of Nadine George Graves' world premiere play, Anansi The Story King. This new production re-imagines the legend of Anansi the spider, the classical African Diaspora trickster, using puppetry, new media, music, and dance. A mash-up of the traditional African legend with the Arabian classic, Shahrazad, it is a performance for the whole family.
